Certified Doula. Former Math Geek. Mom of 3.
I am here to support you and help you have a positive birth experience.
Hi, I'm Natasha.
Before I was called to doula work, I was a career-oriented woman in an analytical field, putting my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and my Masters in Operations Research to good use. After the birth of my first child 12 years ago I developed an undeniable passion for birth, eventually following my dream to accompany women on their birthing journeys by attending a DONA birth doula training in 2016. Since then I have supported vaginal births, cesarean births, low- and high-risk births, premature births, induced births, epidural births, and completely unmedicated births.
In addition to being a doula I homeschool my three wonderful children, one of whom was born in a hospital, another at a birth center, and another at home. Each of their births has taught me something new about the state of maternal health care in the United States, the birth philosophies of different providers, and the innumerable capabilities of the female body.
I am convinced that women are stronger than they think.
I believe that as women make their way through this most challenging, yet most rewarding journey, they are transformed. Further, I believe that women should be treated with respect and gentleness during this transformative time in their lives. This is why I am here to help you achieve the birth of your dreams, whatever that means for you.
Aside from mothering and doula-ing I also enjoy knitting, delicious food, a good cup of tea, being in nature, and, as I am originally from Russia, I enjoy learning about different cultures from my international friends.
The name Quiet Waters was inspired by one of my favorite scriptures, Psalm 23: "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters."
