Certified Doula. Former Math Geek. Mom of 3.
Birth is such an important event in the life of a woman. I am here to support you and to help you have a positive birth experience.
Hi, I'm Natasha, Certified Birth Doula.
I became passionate about birth around the time my first baby was born, eleven years ago. Before that, I was a career-oriented woman in an analytical field.
My husband and I have three wonderful children. One was born in a hospital, one at a birth center, and one at home. Each of their births has taught me something new about the state of the U.S. healthcare, birth philosophies of different providers, and capabilities of women's bodies.
I followed my dream to help women during childbirth, and attended birth doula training in 2016. It was through DONA, the world’s first, largest and leading doula certifying organization. Since then, I have supported vaginal births, Cesarean births, low and high risk births, TOLAC (Trial of Labor After Cesarean), premature births, induced births, epidural births, and completely unmedicated births.
I am convinced that women are stronger than they think. I believe that as women make their way through this most challenging, yet most rewarding journey, they become transformed. I believe that women should be treated with respect and gentleness during this transformative time in their lives. I am here to help you achieve the birth of your dreams, whatever that means for you.
Besides being a doula, I homeschool my children. I also enjoy knitting, good food, a good cup of tea, being in nature, and learning about different cultures from my international friends. I am from Russia, and I find myself fascinated by different cultures.
The name Quiet Waters was inspired by one of my favorite scriptures, Psalm 23: "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters."
